Anne Medrano is a Nationally Board Certified and Pennsylvania Licensed Massage Therapist, who focuses on treating each person wholly; addressing body, mind and soul. Customizing each therapeutic session to your specific needs, with compassionate, active listening and grounded intuition, each appointment with Anne allows deep relaxation, transformation, greater self awareness and a wonderful sense of tranquility.
She has studied with the Upledger Institute (CranioSacral Therapy, SomatoEmotional Release and Advanced coursework), John Barnes Myofascial Release, Wisdom of the Earth Medicinal Aromatherapy, Reflexology with The International Institute of Reflexology, and is a Reiki Master-Teacher in the traditional Usui system of Reiki. Anne received her certification to practice Massage Therapy from Massage Arts Center of Philadelphia, and her B.S. in Health Sciences from Philadelphia University.
Anne first experienced the many benefits of massage therapy in 1998 after receiving treatment for a sports injury. Her positive experience led to a successful recovery and a keen interest in the healing arts. Over time, it became clear that healing and recovery is not just a physical experience, and that acute injury is rarely a simple, localized event. Trauma happens on many levels, and in various forms throughout the life experience. Our bodies hold these traumas and continue to experience them in the most profound ways. Anne addresses issues with this in mind, allowing each individual the opportunity to receive what is most needed, facilitating a return to wellness, allowing for the innate wisdom of the body to shine and heal.
Anne has benefited greatly from working in clinical settings such as an orthopedic Physical Therapy practice and Chiropractic Wellness Centers. She is adept at addressing a number of issues from sports injuries, joint issues, rotator cuff impairments, pre and post surgical recovery, scar tissue release, tendonitis, acute and chronic pain, migraines, headaches, TMJ, anxiety, depression, fatigue, to name a few. Beyond the physical manifestations of pain and discomfort, there may be mental-emotional or spiritual distress. Anne’s training and experience allow client-directed healing for all aspects of discomfort.
Anne’s work as a healing arts practitioner is her calling; her purpose. She is deeply honored, humbled and grateful to help people feel better in their bodies. She considers therapeutic massage and bodywork an essential part of a balanced, holistic approach to health and wellness.
